Time Dystopia

"For a long time, I had no idea how I wanted to photograph Big Ben. I kept thinking that creating a print of one of London’s most photographed landmarks would feel too obvious, even banal, so I decided I simply wouldn’t.

Then one day, I started thinking about how we perceive time. We measure it, chase it and organise our lives around it, yet somehow it can feel increasingly distorted and elusive. I became fascinated by the idea of a kind of time dystopia, and suddenly Big Ben, one of the world’s most recognisable symbols of time, became the perfect subject.

I wanted to see it differently. To take something so familiar and make it feel slightly unfamiliar, almost as though time itself had begun to shift around it."
